Dave Dersham was born out west in Eugene, Oregon.

He soon moved to Amherst, Massachusetts--a professor's kid--part of the early 70s faculty expansion at Umass.

Dave completed Oberlin College in the fall of 1989, and soon moved to Southern Maine to teach Environmental Education.

By the mid-90s, Dave completed another degree.
This time a M.S. in Environmental Studie, at Antioch.

After a short sojourn out west (root seeking?) Dave played the Northampton open mics for about two years, while working as a domestic therapist.

Since 1997, Dave has been playing in the Boston folk scene, and has just released his new album, The Burn of Summer.
The reception has been positive and Dave has enjoyed steady circulation on WERS (Emerson College) and WUMB Folk Radio (UMass Boston).
